Finally, BlackBerry Desktop for Mac

So RIM may be putting some companies out of business by releasing a native Blackberry desktop application, but oh well, this is really great news! The new application is coming out on October 2 (today!) and you’ll need to register to get more information about the new desktop conduit. Just like any other sync application, the BB desktop syncs your iTunes, calendar, address book, software and games.
This is great. After such a long wait, Blackberry is finally opening up to the rest of the consumer world. It’s time get out of those corporate clothes and go casual!
How do you sync the HTC Magic to Mac OS X

I’ve been toying with the HTC Magic and my verdict has been telltale of expectations that were basically preconceived with a “Google OS.” Apparently Android may be too early in its stages to support a couple of things, especially with the Mac. I’ve been having bad trouble trying to do two things:
1. First, a total free sync solution to the HTC Magic with my iCal and Address Book. If there existed one, the telco where I got it from didn’t really elaborate on the apps. Apparently, not all Androids are created equal and the version for the Philippines packed into …read more
Keeper for iPhone has military grade encryption, self destruct mode

According to the guys at Callpod, there is currently no technology for the iPhone that provides full security and encryption when you sync data to the PC or Macintosh. Thus the need for Keeper, an app so secure, it comes with military grade encryption that keeps your passwords and synced data too secure to handle.
Currently, Keeper sells for $0.99 at the iTunes store and is compatible with both iPod touch and iPhone. You can download the application here.
Oh and we weren’t kidding about the self-destruct mode.

Here’s an interesting little sync tool from PocketMac. The Backup for Sales Force is basically a robust PIM sync tool that allows your sales force to sync data every 15 minutes from their phone. This includes address books, to do items and calendar entries. The video above illustrates how PocketMac Backup for Sales Force works.

If you’re one of the few kids who own a brand spankin’ new Nokia 5800 AND happen to own a Macintosh, you will probably notice that the Nokia iSync support site still doesn’t have a device driver for this phone. No worries, one will come soon. It always does. But in the meantime, you can check out tnkgrl’s self-developed iSync plugin which works just as fine!
Here’s a screenshot from my iSync profile. As you can see from the bottom, it recognizes the device!

Finally! A FREE and reliable sync conduit for Windows Mobile and Macintosh!
With many sync apps available in the market today, it’s hard to find a reliable and FREE tool which you can use to keep your PIM in sync. For someone like me, I don’t really care to sync iPhoto or iTunes with my Windows Mobile device. What’s of primary importance is my PIM – address book, calendar and the like. So say hello to SyncMate, a free Mac to Windows Mobile sync tool. This is something we’ve been waiting for! The free version comes with these features, including an …read more
Missing Sync 1.0.2 released

For us unfortunate Mac users who have to rely on third party apps to do certain things for us, you may have already noticed that Missing Sync for BlackBerry was released to accomodate a few new features. Unfortunately, these “new features” still don’t include the updates we had hoped Mark / Space would inculcate into the software … such as Applcation Installs.
There’s a new Folder Dync plugin though. It allows you to synchronize full folders from your Mac to your phone. I wonder if you can install apps this way. Urgh.
You can download the Missing Sync 1.0.2 …read more
Missing Sync for BlackBerry

The Missing Sync is missing a vital tool for its BlackBerry to Mac pairing – the ability to install applications onto the device via USB connection. The Missing Sync for BlackBerry conduit, currently at version 1.0.1 is an efficient tool for synchronizing your BlackBerry with iTunes and iPhoto as well as your other PIM applications.
It seems that developing a conduit to install BlackBerry applications isn’t as easy as it seems to be. What MarkSpace does is allow you to download and buy apps directly from its online store. Missing Sync for BlackBerry is priced at $39.95. Nonetheless, Missing Sync for …read more
