The LG VX11000 “enV Touch” is LG’s latest midrange consumer touch screen phone. It comes with a pretty standard set of features that is highlighted by the manufacturer’s attention to detail in the finish. Specs would include a 3.2MP camera, music player, video recording capability, hearing aid compatibility, Bluetooth, miniSD expansion, and a really exciting Dolby surround sound speaker.
The enV Touch comes with a 3 inch screen, which is carved out to be bigger than the Voyager by 0.20 inches. For more details, you can check out the complete specs and gallery.

I didn’t really enjoy the HTC Touch Diamond. The Touch HD was more to my liking. But it seems that Canadians are really happy with it. Does this mean when they get to play around with the Touch HD, the experience will practically be orgasmic?
Oh wait. The video isn’t user generated. It’s PR material. Sry!

HTC launched three new devices today in South East Asia – the HTC Touch 3G, Touch Viva and the high end Touch HD which retails for about USD 1,000. But the news maker isn’t about the neat design of the Touch HD – but a cute Easter Egg built into the application as seen above.

Pardon the low quality, but what happens is that the weather bar shows the sun shining and the weather slowly changes to a storm with droplets on the 3.8 inch screen. A wiper pops out and wipes the raindrops away, all in one really cool and seamless animation sequence. [source]

Building in easter eggs into phones to get the social media crowd hyped? I think this is a great move for hardware manufacturers. We haven’t seen a lot of these easter eggs lately so it’s pretty cool to see some of the staff unveil these during the launch. The new Touch series uses the second generation TouchFLO 3G technology which is more seamless, faster and more intuitive.

Think this Easter Egg is cool? Help me Digg! this post.

This is definitely it — the tipping point for companies to catch up with the iPhone. Not that we didn’t see this coming. Offering traditional marketing vids that show off the updated TouchFLO 3D animation, HTC is surely on its way to boasting another Windows Mobile hack. As for usability, well, only time will tell.

The HTC TouchFLO 3D on Music:

Looking back, HTC released the Touch mere hours before the iPhone was released and this was due to a time zone difference no less! This is version two.

So yeah, this is a blog all about cellphones. So why are we talking about the iPod touch? I managed to try one today at a media event and all I can say is that one needs to take a step back and think about where the iPod touch falls in comparison to the iPhone and the rest of the iPod line.

The iPod touch is a tad slimmer than the iPhone. It doesn’t allow you to download files via the web browser, and the Starbucks WiFi store partnership only applies to countries where Starbucks chooses to participate. With the iPhone coming to Asia in 2008, it may seem that the four month wait may not actually justify buying the iPod touch – especially since you can already get refurbished iPhones for a fraction of the price – US$250.00. Hella cheap. The iPod touch is a great show off device but with the many things Apple may have in store for us in the coming year, I’d hold on to my wallet.
