The Nokia 888 by Tamer Nakisci

They say a picture paints a thousand words. But these pictures leave me stunned because at first glance, I didn’t know what this Nokia product was. It’s a phone, the concept Nokia 888 design by Tamer Nakisci.

Some questions though – is it waterproof? What about shockproof? What happens if the battery leaks? I always thought the words “liquid” and “battery” shouldn’t go together. The closest thing we got on retail is li-polymer batteries that can be molded like clay to fit small phones. They’re also hella expensive.

If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.

How much will it cost? (according to Jayvee)

Liquid battery
Ooh I’d say $2.00 in mass production. Water is cheap.

Speech Recognition
Not hard to do. Let’s give it $1.00

Flexible touch screen
Now this is tricky. They have this in those NASA stuff and NASA is expensive so an easy $2,000.00 for you baby!

Touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment
Holy crap… err.. The Terminator was pegged at several billion dollars because it can “understand and adjust to the environment.” Okay then, $1,000,000,000.00 since it’s only a phone.

Simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms
Oh I think this is a bonus feature. Free!

Grand total: A lot. And that’s without NET profit.

It is obviously a concept project. That’s what the competition aimed at. It is the idea that counts !! So it makes no sense to question it ,especially in this way.
I think that this guy has a brilliant mind that will keep our society progressive for the future.
