Verzio Duplii and Twinn: Dual SIMs make it to Asia

Nice things happening in Asia. Singapore manufacturer Verzio, a new player in the digital market, has come up with the first batch of dual SIM phones. Called the Verzio Twinn and Verzio Duplii, these two phones come with two SIM card slots.

I have nothing bad to say about the phones’ design. What I do wonder though would be how battery life would perform given that the phone is emitting two signals at once. Nonetheless, the engineers and designers put in a lot of work in the user interface:
So how does it work? I managed to try the user interface and worked my way through the nicely skinned menu system resembling Nokia and Sony Ericsson design. What happens basically is that your SIM cards are assigned “1″ and “2″ accordingly and you can make calls and reply using SIM “1″ or “2.” In the same way, messages are labeled as coming from either phone number. I must stress — both SIMs are active simultaneously.

Good morning all! Were is the verzio fone available in manila? How musch does it cost?
it’s only available in QuickCom outlets for now. There is one QuickCom outlet in SM Southmall, Las Pinas and another one in SM North Edsa. Only the Duplii is available for now and it’s worth P14,990. I bought one yesterday and I’m so0o0 loving it. Thank god I saw this website before I bought a MyPhone unit. They give out a free 1gb memory card and an extra battery unit. You won’t have any issues with the charger too because it’s compatible to the Motorolla chargers and USB ports so it’s easy to find a car charger even if it’s not included in the pack. Picture quality is nice too. I haven’t uploaded pics on my pc yet but it does look better than the ones taken from MyPhone.
is this phone available online? Please post a link
thanks
the keypad ‘2 and 3′, 5 and 6′, and so were intact togeteher, and they were small and stack at the very low end of the phone. not good keypad design.
to yunees:
how’s your duplii now after more than a month of using? is it user friendly?
i’m planning to get one for myself.
What is the point of a dual SIM if its not Quadband GSM?
Still serves its function for me. You’ll get used to the ‘0′ key being on the right side of the keypad. I’m just happy that among all dual sim phones in the market right now, it’s one of the most dependable (i heard Samsung’s dual sim phone is also good but I haven’t seen its specs yet). I just wish I could add more apps to this phone. The installed games are not enough and I’m not sure if there are downloadable themes to it. Other than that, it’s all good.
How about the service center, just in case of problems and defects?
in the Philippines the phone is serviceable through the Verzio store. They are building one right now at Bonifacio High Street.
Haldane is the distributor of the Verzio brand so buying from an authorized dealer also guarantees warranty
Thanks bro for the info. Hope I can have one.
If any who had used this phone for at least a month or two please hit back. How was its performance after all.
@roldan – i think yunees (above) has some good feedback about it!
How about battery life? On the average use (phone calls, txts, etc.), does the battery last a day?
Been tinkering around with the Duplii for a few days already… biggest disappointment would be the bundled software for the phone to act as a modem. Top COM port speed is only 115200 kbps – just as fast as a 56k modem.
Hope people at Verzio would look into this…
In the meantime… my trusted LG KU250 is getting the job done.
I have this question, do you have to turn it of just to switch sim provider? let say globe and sun… I know for a fact that you can monitor both, question is, is it a click only to answer text messages either of the two provider?
because I heard from the samsung D880 review that you need to turn it of to switch provider, that will be a little bit hassle on the user’s part for we have to wait for the phone to reboot… though you can monitor both, but answering is a different story…
@Bossing47
I’ve had the chance to get my hands on both phones. Both the Duplii and D880 are active dual sim phones (i.e. no need to reboot to switch provider).
The only time that the D880 would need to reboot is if you switch your primary sim from once service provider to the other (the sim which may be used for GPRS/MMS vis-a-vis the secondary sim with which you can just call and text)…
Hope this clears up things…
Im partial to sony erickson so I was wondering about the twinn’s MP3 playback hows the audio on this phone? just need to know before I dish out 12 G’s on this model. Please post any comments on this que, thanks!!!!!!

I’m interested on the TWINN . . . I’ve been looking for an active dual sim phone since last year.
Questions:
. . . How long does the battery last?
. . . How big can the memory be expanded?
if your using two sim cards at a time, roughly a day.. not bad.. using two simcards at a time consumes much energy than using only 1. its expndble to 1 GB.. not bad after all, hey guys. Verzio twin is Only 3,990 in stores..
where i can find service center in muntinlupa for twinn
where can i buy a P3,990 verzio twinn here in Manila? thnx!
follow up on where to buy a Twinn worth 3,990.00? and are these two Verzio phones really ok? thanks
just bought one in makro…
i bought twinn verzio two yesterday and i am impressed with the features offered by the unit despite of its low price as compared to well-known brands of cellphones. I tried for one day and the problem that i encountered is that it frequently hangs for about seven times (in my case). another one is that i tried to synchronize the unit with my computer using the cd program
included in the package and the computer cannot detect the unit (i also activated the cellphone pcsync as instructed by the manual before connecting it to the cable) maybe because the driver is not compatible with windowsxp (my operating system).
i returned the unit to the store and take my money back. i surfed the internet and look for the same problem that i encountered and found out that another owner have the same problem (hanging) and she is now selling her unit for
P3,000. i really like to own a twinn verzio and praying that i get a good unit (without defect).
any information and suggestion will be appreciated.
Mr.Carlo Sorry bout the product, we recommend Duplii its also Dual-sim both active.3G phone and FM radio. You can visit Verzio store: Festival mall
I just bought the verzio twinn yesterday and I am loving it except for one thing… The sms messages in my inbox do not reflect the name on the contact list and instead displays the message/part of the message in place of the name. at first I thought I had a duplicate name/number in the phonebook or maybe it conflicts with my sims’s phonebook but I tried using a clean sim and deleted all of the phones phonebook entry and manually entered 1 number… I tried texting the phone and it still displays the message instead of the name… any way around this?
@Carlo
I have the same problem sir. Just bought a twinn 3 days ago. It hangs about once every hour. The screen just turns white and the phone freezes up. Im having the unit replaced at Haldane Malate (the twinn has a 7-day unit replacement warranty). Though replacement will take about two weeks, im still happy with haldane’s accomodating tech support staff.
Hy! Can the verzio phone is avalaible in Europe?
And if it does, where can I buy it (website), and how much does it cost?
How much is duplii? I would like to buy one. I saw twinn in a makro catalog and it costs P3999.
i have a verzio twinn and i got it from macro last november 2008. the features are good except for the camera and the battery. i tried the bonifacio heights service center but they dont have accessories for the unit. i dont know if verzio is really serious in distributing their product since they have a service center but they dont have accesories for the units they are selling. they know that the battery sucks and what makes it worst is that they dont sell spare battery and this is what stopping me from recommending the unit/brand to anybody.

Got my own Verzio Twinn. It’s working well with my pc for sync. It was able to detect my unit. I agree that the inbox does not reflect the name of the sender but the message. The battery is consumed fast maybe because two sims are working at the same time. Sound is fairly good. GPRS/MMS is working. My phone does not hang. Only disadvantage of course is the low 1.3 mp camera and no radio. And the unfriendly upper and lower case input method when texting. I have to pass several input method before I shift from upper case to lower case. Otherwise it is a good slide phone. Any tips about the phone, guys?
i’ve just bought a new Verzio Duplii from ebay. I have trouble with the camera. It is saying “Media Error”. I just cannot take a photo or use video camera. the problem is not with the memory card for sure because i used it on other applications. can anyone help? i’m from Malta in Europe.
the fone is good but wer here in manila is your shop cellfone repair shop just in case my fone will get destroy. thanks pls reply to my email add. im from manila
I see that verzio duplii is now just about 5700 locked to Red mobile. Where can i buy an open line, somewhere in makati, manila area or lucena city?
What do you think about two call buttons?
I think almost users think one call and end buttons.
User pressing the left call button makes an outgoing call and user pressing the right button makes to end an active call while one is unconscious.
I’d like to hear your opinion on this matter.
