W800i and N90 camera shoot out

October 8, 2005 by Jayvee Fernandez

GSM Arena has conducted their own tests of the camera face off between the W800i / K750i and the Nokia N90. If you liked our own review, you might want to check out their more thorough shootout with a lot of samples.

Sony Ericsson not only won the night duel due to the quality of its photos, but was easier to operate with. In the dark we had to take pictures with Nokia N90 blindly. The scene is lightened just for a moment only when you press the shutter release button. When you use Sony Ericsson with flash support the support diodes light up first, so you can see roughly what you are photographing; the phone focuses itself on a closer distance.

However, in terms of video the Nokia N90 is the clear winner. Just like how I have demonstrated with this video.

  1. [...] I for one have tried out several of these megapixel wonders, shown in the Carl Zeiss Nokia N90 vs. SE W800i showdown and many more, even before I started blogging. [...]

  2. [...] I’m not really a fan of camera phones but the W550i has a 1.3MP camera that takes decent photos. You can view a quick sample pic I took (highest quality) here. Compare these pics to the N90 and W800i camera. [...]

  3. [...] Nokia N90. Definitely a winner for 2005 because of its amazing video recording capabilities. Let’s forget about the Carl Zeiss still lens and concentrate more on the high quality videos this baby can churn out. Now anyone with this phone can make their own home videos. [...]
