Your cellular network is a dating consideration

I’m not sure how your inter-cellular network messaging and calls work but back here, if you send SMS or call a different network, there are some disadvantages. For one, you MAY be charged slightly more especially if you’re on a prepaid payment scheme. I bring this up because of a conversation I had with someone .. I … err .. dated for a time.

Her: I really want to spend more time with you and hear from you.

Me: OK. So why don’t you reply to calls or messages?

Her: You’re on a different cell network and its more expensive to reply.

Well, we’re good friends now so it doesn’t really matter. But don’t you think that there is some form of discrimination when it comes dating in this case? Could it actually be said that your cellular network company is taken into account when dating someone? I mean, if girls factor in things like “job stability” and “comes from a good family” while the guys factor in “geographic location” and “plays video games” as pluses … should the cellular network now be factored in? Gaaah.

If you and your date / significant other / whatever are on a network that offers unlimited airtime, you won’t even have to worry about the cost – I know I don’t.

Heck, if you have to know, she was the one who got me a (prepaid) line on this network. I guess that means that yes, my cellular network was definitely a dating consideration.
