Adrian Peterson donated the jersey he wore while breaking the single-game rushing record to the Pro Football Hall of Fame today. In just the eighth game of his NFL career, AD made his mark in pro football history with a 296-yard rushing day against the San Diego Chargers. Appropriately, the milestone will be remembered forever in Canton and it couldn’t happen to a nicer kid, who said:
“It’s a blessing; that is how I look at it. It’s a great honor to have my jersey put in the Hall of Fame. It’s crazy when I think about it being my rookie year and having something to put in the Hall of Fame where some of the greatest players are mentioned. You just look for the future and expect bigger things to come and envision maybe one day, God’s will, that I will be in the Hall of Fame itself.”
I realize it’s way too early to be making predictions like this, but if Adrian keeps running the way he has been, the Hall of Fame will be worth serious discussions for him sooner (no pun intended) than later.
