Brett Favre became the winningest QB in NFL history today as the Green Bay Packers beat the N.Y. Giants 35-13. He passed previous record-holder and Hall of Famer John Elway. It’s amazing to me that Brett still “has it” after all these years, but the numbers don’t lie. He was 29 of 38 for 286 yards in notching his 149th win. Brett’s 17 years of NFL experience balances the youthfulness of this team and his decision to return for another season rather than retire appears to be a good one. After talking with Packers’ All-Pro DE Aaron Kampman last week for the BIGPLAY RADIO NFL PODCAST, he made it clear to me this team doesn’t, in any way, look at this as a rebuilding year. Green Bay is built to win now and they’re off to their first 2-0 start since 2001.
