NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell won’t reinstate Brett Favre today. He’s giving it another 24 hours to see if the Green Bay Packers and Brett can come to some sort of resolution. Meanwhile, the two sides continue to try to find a way for Brett to play somewhere else because the Packers sure don’t want him in Green Bay. The Green Bay Press-Gazette was reporting that Brett was headed to the N.Y. Jets, but I don’t believe it. On paper, the Jets should be vastly improved, but that’s not enough reason for Brett to be in favor of it. Instead, I think the rumors were built to leverage some bidding from other teams for Brett’s services. Word is that the Packers are desperate and are now considering NFC North rivals as potential trade partners. And we know there’s only one team Brett would consider — the Minnesota Vikings.
