Jerry Jones Fined For Trash Talk

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been fined $25,000 by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for his recent public criticisms of referee Ed Hoculi. Apparently, it doesn’t matter if your gripe is not related to a specific call. You can’t talk trash about an NFL official, period. And Jerry Jones did just that. The league is trying to prohibit the criticism of game officials, so all should be warned. Warranted or not, unless you’re prepared to pay a hefty fine (although $25,000 might as well be 25 cents to Jerry Jones), you should probably keep any negative thoughts on officiating to yourself.
