If anyone needed further proof that Larry Fitzgerald is the best receiver in the National Football League, look no further than this afternoon’s impressive performance in the NFC Championship game. The popular adage “big players make big plays in big games” comes to mind. In easily the most important game of his career, Larry Jr. caught nine balls for 152 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-35 win over the Eagles. What’s even more impressive is that the Eagles knew Larry was the one player they needed to control. And they couldn’t do it. After the game, Larry said:
“I just knew that I have to do my job and stay grounded. Make sure I don’t get too emotional … Those kinds of things are going through my mind, to make sure I do the fundamental things.”
Larry has now surpassed 100 yards receiving for five straight games, including an NFL playoff record-tying third straight game. I’m getting quite used to talking about what an incredible receiver he is — the best in the NFL in my opinion. Getting used to the Cardinals in the Super Bowl is another matter.
