Michael Vick ‘60 Minutes’ Interview

August 16, 2009 by David Kindervater

In case you missed it, here’s the 60 Minutes Michael Vick interview which aired earlier this evening on CBS. This is half of the interview, then follow this link to 60Minutes.com to watch the rest.

After watching the interview (which, by the way, I think James Brown did an excellent job on), I had a hard time figuring out whether Michael was really upset about what he did to the dogs or just upset about what happened to his career as a result of what he did to the dogs. Nevertheless, I have changed my tune as far as forgiving the guy and moving on with life. Initially, I felt like letting him back into the NFL sent the wrong message—to the rest of the league and to how the public perceives the league. But, I think two years in prison does send a stern enough warning even though it can’t bring back the animals that died as a result of his reckless behavior. It’s a controversy that will continue between a lot of people. He says he’s a changed man so hopefully his actions will continue to speak louder than his words.

come on people!do you really believe this man?
this man vick caged, starved, gave no water, forced the dogs to mate to bring more innocent animals into a world of terror.this man knew dam well what he was doing,on HIS PROPERTY!HE DIDN’T GIVE A DAM,OR EVEN A THOUGHT,he through innocent animals in a torture ring and watched with his weirdo onlookers as dogs ripped each other apart.how can anyone do such a horrible thing as that?thats terrible.any decent humane citizen would do something to help the dogs.if the dogs came out alive, they wer killed in horrific cruel inhumane ways,by hanging, drowning, electricuing and slammed to the cement ground by the hands of this man.either way,any poor innocent dog in the hands of this creep will either die a painful, horrible death in the ring this man put them in,or suffering still alive and then he killed them in any way this man could imagine.what a dam shame.these poor dogs didn’t even have a chance.don’t even tell me people believe what this man says, because he is full of bolony,he is so full of crap,he is a lier.this is a grown, overgrown man that just took innocent dogs,if things didn’t go his way and snapped thier necks, hung them electricuted them with jumper cables, thre them in water that electricuted them
bashed their heads in cement, all because he thought he is a bad ass,and has to take his anger out on innocent dogsAND GET AWAY WITH IT.it was all on his property mind you.alls this man cares about is keeping the money coming in with football,we’ll let me tell you, this man can be on national tv and say he is sorry ,remorsefull and whatever else he says, but anyone has to be an idiot to believe it.is there any justice for these poor dogs?this man breaks the law, supposed to be a football player, underneath it all,he is breaking the law,he thinks because he has money,he can carry all this out on his property and get away with it.someone like this is a piece of garbage, belongs in the garbage,as however many dogs he has thrown in the garbage.this man is worth nothing, how can he face the world on tv and think everyone is supposed to believe him?this is the kind of man he is and will always be,and will do all over again.why would anyone think of giving this man a second chance?he don’t deserve any chance at anything except to suffer the pain and agony that he put all them poor dogs through, let him see how it feels.this is disgraceful letting this man do1 day less than a year in jail, just to keep the public quiet, what a bunch of bull.and i bet this guy was treated like a king too.for all the pain, agony and torture and all the deaths this man did to innocent dogs why in the world would he get a second chance? thats like saying people can just go around killing and hurting animals ,and they can have a second chance?this is not right.this man should loose everydime he has,no more football and be throwed in a cage big enough to hold hi,and let him sit and wait his turn to be thrown in a torture ring with some innocent dogs he treated so badly and get his rear end ripped apart, and if he live through it,let him hang from a tree,or let him drown or electricute him or slam him to the ground like he did, this is the problam here, these people get away with it,the law should be if a person hurts or kills an animal in any way, they should get the same punishment.and this man does deserve what he done to the innocent animals.what a disgrace he shows his face on tv,and what a sin he is showing our children of today.get rid of him

While I agree with the sentiments expressed by Nick Stanger at 7:11pm on 8/17, I found his writing to be that of at best a 12 year old. I wouldn’t hold up Michael Vick as a good example and sadly, neither would I hold up Mr. Stanger. If he is a product of our school system, we are in big trouble in this country.

Here is just one example. He can’t spelled damned and doesn’t know the difference between threw and through. “HIS PROPERTY!HE DIDN’T GIVE A DAM,OR EVEN A THOUGHT,he through innocent animals in a torture ring …” No wonder we get the kind of politicians being elected to public office.
