New England Head Coach Bill Belichick: ‘We’re As Ready As We’re Going to Be’

After an inconsistent showing Wednesday, the New England Patriots had a crisp practice on a sunny day at Sun Devil Stadium today. According to my pool report from Dan Pompei, QB Tom Brady’s ankle injury continued to look like a non-factor. Tom moved well, threw well and did not appear to limp. His ankle was not taped over his shoe. WR Jabar Gaffney’s participation in practice continued to be limited because of a shoulder injury. Head coach Bill Belichick felt good about where his team was in their preparation for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLII against the N.Y. Giants:
“Another day always helps. These guys care. They want to practice well. When we make mistakes we’ve got to correct them. They want to get it right the next time … We’re pretty close. We’ll review some stuff tomorrow. There won’t be hardly anything new. Just reviewing situations. We’re as ready as we’re going to be. We could spend four weeks preparing for the Giants. But we’ll be ready to go.”
Sounds like the Pats are ready to play. And with today being the last day the team will be required to talk to the media, they can completely focus on the task at hand and get themselves ready for the final days before kickoff. They won’t have to answer any more questions until after the game.
