I was talking about NFL Europa kicking off its 15th season yesterday. Well, they did so in style with record numbers. Total attendance for the opening weekend was 89,367, the highest single-weekend total in the six-team league’s history. The previous high was 89,001 set in Week 9 of the 2005 season. The 2007 season’s Kickoff Weekend attendance was up 64 percent from last year’s opening mark (54,411). The World Bowl rematch between Amsterdam and Frankfurt drew 38,125 fans to top all three games.
