Shawn Andrews AWOL From Eagles Camp

Philadelphia Eagles two-time Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews is missing from his team’s training camp. So far he’s racked up $60,000 in fines for being “absent without leave” and his agent, Rich Moran, is not offering any explanation other than he spoke with Shawn this past weekend and that the situation is personal. The Eagles are calling the absence unexcused, hence the fines. Speculation is that it’s some kind of emotional or psychological issue, but no official word has been given yet. How bizarre.

Shawn broke his silence on ESPN Radio in Philly today but I’m not exactly sure what he’s trying to say: “You can let everyone know all the rumors are not true. From contractual to retirement, and God knows whatever else is being said. I’m prayed up right now and trying to get right though.” Huh? I hope Shawn gets things cleared up soon.
