Speculation on Brett Favre Return Continues

Even though Brett Favre said yesterday that any talk about him coming out of retirement to play an 18th NFL season was incorrect, new developments occurred today that might challenge that. Brett’s brother Scott only fanned the flames of a comeback saying:

“I think it’s 50-50. There’s no doubt he can play. He’s in good shape, he’s working out, we know he can still play, he’s healthy, so, if he did, it wouldn’t surprise me.”

We know Brett’s talked to Green Bay defensive back Al Harris about having the “itch” to return to the game. And we know Brett has spoken with Packers head coach Mike McCarthy about a possible return. So, it’s absurd for him to act as though this talk of his “unretirement” is just speculation and hearsay. This is all turning into a bit of a media circus and I honestly think Brett enjoys it. In fact, I think he might be poised for a grand re-entrance into the NFL. But I would be shocked if it was for a team other than the Packers.

I think he’s talking like any normal person would about desires to come back. Maybe he should realize that others will hear of this and blow it up, which in turn makes everyone sick of hearing about it. I am a true fan. I hope he comes back. I dont see the immediate need to “move on” to the Aaron Rogers era. The intact team has a chance (even if free agency once again evaded us). In this game its about seizing your current opportunity.

  2. I can’t wait until he finally makes up his mind!

I hope he comes back. Yeah he makes dumb mistakes but it is the same mistakes that makes him a hero at times too. you gotta go for it if you want to win and same goes for the defense and receivers

  4. Tim says:

If Brett wants to come back. You let Brett Favre come back. Speculation that the Packers don’t want him back is crazy. If Brett came back and played for another team, Lambeau field would be packed with Favre jerseys for another team. Wisconsin fans would boo the Packers head office right out of town. As for Aaron Rodgers, he will get his shot but for now Brett Favre is who we all want as our quarter back period!!!! I hope the Packers make the right decision.

  5. pr says:

LET HIM PLAY & TRADE THE GM – BETTER YET – GIVE HIM ANOTHER JOB WITH THE PACKERS, BUT NOT IN A LEADERSHIP ROLE, MAYBE WATERBOY?

  6. DEVON says:

screw aaron rodgers no one cares about him and no one ever will.i think he is just another aogent punk that is jealous becuase he will never be as good as brett favre

I think Brett’s been pretty underhanded with his recent request. If he wants to play football he’s got a contract. If I were in Packers management I’d do everything in the world to assure he doesn’t get a free pass. An opportunity to come back and play for the Packers? O.K., but no guarantees for a starting job. If he’s the best (today), fine. If not, he’d have to come off the bench like any other 2nd best player. No free trips to any other team – Central Conf. or elsewhere. Business is business.
