Former NFL All-Pro linebacker Bill Romanowski is bored enough with his life after football that he wants to make a return to the game — as head coach of the team he was most famous for playing for, the Denver Broncos. With longtime leader Mike Shanahan out of the picture since he was dismissed a couple weeks ago, Bill thinks he might just be a good fit for the job:

National Football League Blogcast, NFL Blogcast

Former NFL All-Pro linebacker Bill Romanowski is bored enough with his life after football that he wants to make a return to the game — as head coach of the team he was most famous for playing for, the Denver Broncos. With longtime leader Mike Shanahan out of the picture since he was dismissed a couple weeks ago, Bill thinks he might just be a good fit for the job:

“I can’t stop thinking about this. This may be a complete fantasy, and that’s all right ….. At the end of the day, nothing may happen from it.”

He’s exactly right. Nothing will happen from it. The Broncos are no more likely to hire Bill Romanowski as their head coach than they would to hire me as their head coach. Bill is currently running his own severely overpriced nutrition company (Nutrition53.com) for the financially elite and experimenting in broadcasting and acting (so I hear), but this doesn’t make much sense. He may know football and how to play the linebacker position in the NFL, but he has no coaching experience. None. Therefore, he won’t be considered.
