Dallas Cowboys third-string quarterback Brooks Bollinger got some reps with the first-team offense today. That probably means the Cowboys are so distraught with backup QB Brad Johnson’s 60.3 passer rating after two starts filling in for injured Tony Romo, they’re willing to turn things over to a guy who couldn’t crack the top three (Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte, John David Booty) in Minnesota this preseason. Adrian Peterson Sets NFL Records, Minnesota Vikings Rookie Runs for 296 Yards

Adrian Peterson (see also “Adrian Peterson is Superman…”) broke two NFL records in Minnesota’s 35-17 win over San Diego today. First of all, he set the NFL’s single-game rushing record, previously held by Jamal Lewis, with 296 yards rushing. Secondly, because it was his second 200+ yard rushing effort this season, another NFL record was set for rookies.
