Detroit Lions End Losing Streak

The losing streak is over. The Detroit Lions found a way to hang on and win rather than do what they’ve done over the past 19 regular season games—which is lose a football game. The Lions built a 13-0 halftime lead and hung on to beat the Washington Redskins 19-14 today at Ford Field.
Following the game, a relieved Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said:
“Our guys were carrying the burden of 0-19, and it was unfair to them. But this gets us off of that and puts it behind us.”

This offseason in San Francisco has offered a lot of hope for 49ers fans, but a big question mark remains at the quarterback position where Alex Smith, Shaun Hill and J.T. In Arizona, wide receiver Bryant Johnson was the team’s third option behind Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. In free agency, he was seeking to become any other team’s second receiver. And he accomplished just that today by signing a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers where he’ll most likely start opposite Isaac Bruce.
