Since being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars a couple weeks ago, Byron Leftwich has been job hunting. His search is over as the Atlanta Falcons signed him to a two-year, $7 million deal today. While Byron didn’t impress the Jags enough during their training camp and preseason to help him keep a roster spot, he passed a physical and his workout was good for the Falcons to grab him from the open market.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are parting ways with quarterback Byron Leftwich after four seasons (it seems more like 10 seasons). In a press conference today, Jags Coach Jack Del Rio said the team plans to trade or release Byron and named David Garrard as the team’s starter heading into next week’s season opener against Tennessee. I think this is a good decision on the part of Coach Del Rio.
