To follow-up my NFL Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month post from yesterday, here is a photo sent to me by the Minnesota Vikings. Linebacker Chad Greenway is the team’s breast cancer spokesperson. And during the month of October—along with teammates Antoine Winfield, Brett Favre and Chester Taylor—Chad will be donning these pink cleats (along with other pink-themed equipment) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Chad’s wife Jenni is also getting involved. She will be one of many volunteers handing out pink ribbons and towels Monday night at the Metrodome when the Vikes host the Green Bay Packers.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and Brett Favre will meet to discuss the possibility of Brett playing for the Vikings this season. This information is from to a source with direct knowledge of discussions between Brett and the Vikings. With all the recent speculation that Brett might wind up in Minnesota for the 2009 season, this get together was pretty much inevitable. I know I sound like a broken record, but I was really impressed with Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson today. Coming out of a two-week layoff with a torn LCL, AD carried the ball 15 times for 116 yards and two TDs in a 42-10 thumping of Detroit. Obviously he made the most of his touches this afternoon. After missing two games with a torn LCL, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is expected back in the lineup (he was listed as probable on yesterday’s injury report) as the Vikes host the Detroit Lions in a crucial NFC North battle with serious playoff implications. The Vikings (5-6) currently trail Detroit (6-5) by a game and both teams are trying to secure a wild card spot in the NFC.
