Yesterday was cutdown day in the National Football League. Every team had to trim their roster to 53 players for the upcoming regular season. Here are a few of the notable names who were cutdown victims and who are now looking for gainful employment with another NFL team as soon as possible:
Rudi Johnson, Bengals; Chris Simms, Bucs; Joey Harrington, Falcons; Ashley Lelie, 49ers; Jerome McDougle, Eagles; Willie Anderson, Bengals; John Lynch, Patriots; Fernando Bryant, Patriots; Adam Archuleta, Raiders.

And John isn’t one to hang around and watch from the sidelines:
“I met with Mike (Shanahan), and we both knew it wasn’t really working. To coach’s credit, he understood it and is allowing me to …read more

At 37-years-old, Denver Broncos safety John Lynch is returning for his 16th NFL season. And he’s confident he will once again secure a starting spot in Denver’s defensive secondary:
“My mind-set is I’m going to be first string. That’s the only way I can look at things. I’ve always been of the mentality that you don’t think negative thoughts. There’s competition. All I wanted was an assurance that I’d be given every opportunity to earn a job as an every-down player. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. They brought in a …read more
