“I am not going to let it all go to waste, not the way I feel. My body feels good — my knees, my ankles, everything feels great out there. And I am trying to keep it that same exact way. So whatever I have to do, I am going to maintain. And when I check into camp (my weight) won’t be nothing over 230.”

National Football League Blogcast, NFL Blogcast

The Tennessee Titans rushed for a franchise record 323 yards en route to a lopsided 34-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs this afternoon. Rookie running back Chris Johnson had 168 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown. And running back LenDale White added 149 yards on 17 carries with three touchdowns. The Titans are not only running the football (currently third in the NFL), they are stopping the run (they held the Chiefs to 58 rushing yards today and average giving up less than 90/game) — a formula for certain success in the National Football League. Nevertheless, head coach Jeff Fisher sees room for improvement:

“Any time you run for the yards that we did, the franchise record and the two backs over 100, it’s impressive. But we still made some mistakes. I think we can play better. We just keep working, stress improvement.”

I guess there’s always room for improvement, but at 6-0 and as the only remaining undefeated team, the Titans are on a roll. I love the way this team plays the game — old school, smash mouth football. How far it will take them without a loss remains to be seen. But it sure is fun to watch.
