I don’t know what more I can write about Tom Brady that I haven’t already written. There are only so many times I can tell you about the records he broke this year and how he has led the Patriots to a perfect (so far) 2007 season. About how he’s the best quarterback in the NFL. And how … well, he won the NFL’s Offensive Player-of-the-Year award today, so add that to his 2007 accolades. As predicted, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady won the NFL’s 2007 Most Valuable Player award. And to think, he was the 33rd pick of the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Unbelievable. But this decision was an easy one for someone with Tom’s numbers this season:

16-0 regular-season record
record-setting 50 touchdown passes
league-leading 117.2 passer rating
league-leading 68.9 completion percentage
league-leading 4,806 yards passing

Tom won 49 of a possible 50 votes (someone actually voted against him — Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre received one vote). So, I guess it hasn’t been a “perfect” season [...]
Post from: Every Morning Quarterback

As predicted, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady won the NFL’s 2007 Most Valuable Player award. And to think, he was the 33rd pick of the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Unbelievable. But this decision was an easy one for someone with Tom’s numbers this season:

16-0 regular-season record

record-setting 50 touchdown passes

league-leading 117.2 passer rating

league-leading 68.9 completion percentage

league-leading 4,806 yards passing

Tom won 49 of a possible 50 votes (someone actually voted against him — Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre received one vote). So, I guess it hasn’t been a “perfect” season for Tom. But he’s as good as anyone who has ever played the position (maybe the best-ever). This season he’s played the best football of his career. But let’s give credit to his supporting cast. Tom would be the first to acknowledge them. They share in this honor. If it weren’t for his offensive line, he’s not getting this award. And how about the playmakers on this offense? Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth, Laurence Maroney, Kevin Faulk, Jabar Gaffney, Ben Watson, etc. Tom has plenty of weapons at his disposal.

While this is the highest individual honor an NFL player can receive, I somehow think it’s almost an afterthought for Tom Brady. In New England’s ultimate team regime, it’s not hard to understand why.
