When you factor in the early camp arrival and Pro Football Hall of Fame weekend, the Buffalo Bills had more time to prepare for the 2009 regular season than any other team (ok, the Tennessee Titans did, too). But heading into this 2009 NFL Kickoff Weekend’s opening slate of games, they are one of the league’s most uncertain teams.
Within the past few days, Bills head coach Dick Jauron fired offensive coordinator Turk Schonert and the team released their starting left tackle (Langston Walker)—two integral positions in the success of any offense. So with no time to test their suddenly new …read more

N.Y. Giants receiver Plaxico Burress wanted a contract extension before the 2008 regular season began. Little did he know it would come mere hours before the 2008 regular season began. Plax signed a five-year, $35 million deal today with $11 million coming this season. That’s a lot of cash for one year. I suppose he’ll have a little extra spring in his step tonight when the G-Men open the 2008 Kickoff Weekend against the Washington Redskins.

And since 1978, when the NFL went to the 16-game schedule, and excluding the abbreviated season of 1982, teams that are victorious …read more
