Indianapolis Awarded Super Bowl XLVI

Indianapolis was awarded the 2012 Super Bowl today at the NFL’s Spring Meeting in Atlanta. Indy was a runner-up last year to Dallas, but today beat out Houston and Arizona for the February 5, 2012 game at brand new Lucas Oil Stadium which opens for business this August. I couldn’t be happier. As I said yesterday, Indianapolis is not only a great sports town, it’s a great town period. Indy is one of my favorite cities and will undoubtedly be a great host. I was in Glendale this past Super Bowl XLII and I think the facilities are top-notch. Plus, the weather was incredible. Indy in February …read more

2011 Super Bowl Tops Spring Agenda

The annual NFL Spring Meeting will be held at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee tomorrow. The agenda for the one-day business meeting includes a vote on the awarding of Super Bowl XLV in 2011. The finalists are Arizona, Indianapolis and North Texas. I’m pulling for Indy because I fell in love with the city during my annual travels there for the NFL Scouting Combine. Super Bowls are awarded by a vote of the ownership. A decision and announcement on the 2011 Super Bowl is expected at the end of the morning session on Tuesday (approximately 1 PM Nashville …read more
