Two receivers who want to play for the Dallas Cowboys will be on the opposing sideline tomorrow when the Cowboys host the Cincinnati Bengals. Chris Henry was added to the active roster today after serving a four-game suspension. He is eligible to play for the first time this season. And Chad <s>Ocho Cinco</s> Johnson, who spent most of his offseason blabbing about how he wanted to play for anyone except the Bengals (but especially the Cowboys), will get his chance to run around on the Texas Stadium turf. He even said he was going to kiss the star in the middle of the field:

“If I score Sunday, I love Dallas so much, I’m going to take my helmet off, get a fine and kiss the star ….. OK, when I score, I’m going to take my helmet off and kiss the star. Can I do that?”

I don’t know, can you? It’s certainly not a given. After four games, he only has 11 catches for 116 yards and one touchdown. The antics of Chad <s>Johnson</s> Ocho Cinco and Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens will probably be enough to satisfy the price of admission. But you also have a possible matchup between oft-troubled Dallas DB Adam Jones and the aforementioned oft-troubled Chris Henry (who used to be oft-troubled teammates at WVU). It should be an interesting day. I doubt it will be much of a game. But fun to watch.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced today that the receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson will now be known as Chad Ocho Cinco. They even issued a press release although the media relations department certainly must have had more important things to do with their time:
“Effective today, the Bengals begin the process of listing the former Chad Johnson as Chad Ocho Cinco for all club business, per the legal change of his surname effected in Florida. Chad Johnson is a strange guy. Of course, we already knew that. But he is now officially a little weirder. He legally changed his last name to “Ocho Cinco”. During a recent ESPN interview, he forewarned those who care that a major surprise was forthcoming:
“A lot of people look at Chad Johnson and say he’s crazy and he does a lot of stuff, but I don’t think people really understand how smart I really am. So come September 7, I believe when we play the Baltimore Ravens, I think that’s the game, there’s a surprise [...]
Post from: Every Morning Quarterback

So come September 7, I believe when we play the Baltimore Ravens, I think that’s the game, there’s a surprise for everybody — for everybody. When I say something, it is what it is, just enjoy it. Because it’s going to last 16 weeks, plus some more.”

I don’t think anyone has ever accused Chad of being dumb (even though he doesn’t know what team he’s playing on opening weekend). I mean, I don’t find him to be all that bright but I more-or-less think of him as an obnoxious, attention-craving, glory hog. He’s a very good receiver. He’s just really annoying. So when he plays this season with “Ocho Cinco” on the back of his jersey, we’ll all be very impressed and entertained. Yawn.
