Former Oklahoma safety D.J. Wolfe continues his NFL Draft diary for EMQB with this quick Q&A. Be sure to check out D.J.’s previous post and the EMQB Interview with D.J. Wolfe.
If you could pick one team to play for, who would it be? It would be any team that would draft me and want me to be a part of their team and play a role in its success. Who is your favorite football player of all-time and why? If I had to choose only one player I think it [...]
Post from: Every Morning Quarterback

If you could pick one team to play for, who would it be? It would be any team that would draft me and want me to be a part of their team and play a role in its success. Who is your favorite football player of all-time and why? If I had to choose only one player I think it would have to be Barry Sanders. Since I use to be a running back, I used to love how he would gracefully run with the football in his hands, and how fluid he would look doing it. Who is your favorite NFL safety? My favorite NFL safety would probably have to be Bob Sanders. He is a player that can play in the run game and be a threat to the offense — or play in coverage and be just as big a threat in that area as well. Having played at such a big-time college, do you think the NFL will be that big of an adjustment for you? I think that it will be a big adjustment in terms of the jargon and terminology that will be used by the team. Because at OU, we had a pretty basic system, in my eyes, in regards to the play-calling. But then again maybe its because I had been familiar with that system for a few years. Who do you give the biggest shout-out to? I would definitely give the biggest shout-out to my stepdad. He has been my biggest supporter for all these years.

During this long and strenuous waiting process, there are a few things that I am doing while getting ready for the NFL Draft. One of those things is working out and staying loose and fresh for the minicamp that’s going to occur the week after the Draft — so I can be ready and in shape for that. Another thing I’m doing is relaxing a lot while I have the opportunity to do so, because pretty soon there won’t be much of that. On Draft day, I will have my family in town and we’ll cook and just have a great time until that call comes.

NFL Draft prospect D.J. Wolfe not only plays the game of football better than most, he also understands it more than the next guy. Having worked three different positions with the Oklahoma Sooners, he knows what each player should be doing. D.J. eventually found a home at safety where he had an outstanding senior season with 87 tackles and four interceptions as OU advanced to the Fiesta Bowl. With his Senior Bowl, Scouting Combine and Pro Day behind him, D.J. took some time to talk about his NFL future.
