Former N.Y. Giants receiver Plaxico Burress testified today before the grand jury that is investigating a felony gun possession charge against him. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be spending his summer reviewing the legal situations of a number of different players—most notably receiver Plaxico Burress and quarterback Michael Vick. The Commissioner said he was beginning to focus on evaluating Michael’s situation and that a decision will come in “due time” on whether to reinstate him. Giants receiver Plaxico Burress plans to turn himself in to police tomorrow morning in New York City and plead not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon after accidentally shooting himself in the leg Friday night. The law supposedly calls for a mandatory minimum sentence of 3.5 years for illegal possession of a handgun in New York City.
