Would you like to own the Reebok Pro Fade Grip gloves that Six-Burgh Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes wore when he caught the Super Bowl XLIII game-winning touchdown pass? Reebok is auctioning them (the highest bid at the time of this post is $7,400) or you can simply buy them for a cool million dollars. Santonio put his signature on the left palm. The “Immaculate Extension” auction (as Reebok is calling it) ends February 15. All proceeds go to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.

Indianapolis Colts receiver Reggie Wayne appears in a new commercial for Reebok Hexride running shoes which debuted Thanksgiving Day on NFL Network. Reggie appears to be running through a tire drill on top of a pool of water, but in actuality, the surface is blue-painted wood built into the pool with water added later as a special effect:
“Not many people can say they walked on water. To be one of the select few is always a great thing. But I don’t think it’s going to take much for me because I feel like I walk …read more

It looks like Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco will need to come up with about a half million dollars to put his new legal surname on the back of his uniform. Because of the NFL’s contractual agreement with Reebok, Chad would have to pay the production costs for the unsold inventory of “C. Johnson” jerseys. According to Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson, that would amount to roughly $500,000. I guess we’ll see how important this little stunt is to Chad.
I couldn’t be more amused by the situation. Chad thought he was pulling a fast one on …read more

It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s where the shirts go after the game. Even though the N.Y. Giants won Super Bowl XLII, the winners will also be children in Nicaragua, Romania, and several other countries. Through a partnership between the NFL and World Vision, millions of dollars worth of the incorrectly titled, New England Patriot’s licensed apparel will bring joy to families in extreme poverty.
Since 1994, World Vision has accepted hundreds of official shirts and caps immediately following football’s biggest event. Instead of being destroyed, the losing team’s shirts and caps …read more

I’ve never heard of needing permission to wear and suit and tie, but that’s exactly what 49ers head coach Mike Nolan and Jags coach Jack Del Rio got when Commissioner Goodell gave them the thumbs up to look nicer than 30 other coaches. The upscale dress code was the result of nearly three years of negotiations among Coach Nolan, the NFL and Reebok. Though the league determines what apparel can be worn on the sideline, Reebok provides that clothing for coaches — from Bill Belichick’s ratty sweatshirts to the black suit Nolan was …read more
