Swine flu has been getting a lot of publicity these days. And when almost a dozen members of the Cleveland Browns—Jerome Harrison, Alex Mack, Anthony Madison, Brodney Pool, Shaun Rogers, Robert Royal, Chansi Stuckey, Jason Trusnik, Lawrence Vickers, Corey Williams, Kamerion Wimbley—came down with some sort of influenza this week, it prompted me to ask the National Football League if they had a policy on the infamous H1N1 virus.
I sent an email to VP of Corporate Communications Brian McCarthy and he told me all NFL clubs received the following memo from Commissioner Roger Goodell:

Bills Beat Steelers in Toronto Series Debut

In the first of eight games the Buffalo Bills will play in Toronto through 2012 (five regular season and three preseason), the first team offense looked very sharp in a 24-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Trent Edwards was 9-of-11 for 104 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a critical 22-yard run from his own endzone. Tight end Robert Royal caught both of those TD passes from Trent. It started as an optimistic and inspirational evening with over 70,000 fans roaring in a frenzy with pregame hysteria for NBC’s Sunday Night Football. It quickly turned out to be the largest margin of defeat for a home game in Buffalo Bills history.
