Tank Johnson in Trouble Again

It was admirable that Tank Johnson said he wanted to change his ways and become the NFL’s “Man of the Year,” after violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, but it appears he’s still got a ways to go. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he would be prepared to reduce the suspension from eight games to the first six regular-season games if Tank met certain conditions. One of those conditions included no further adverse involvement with law enforcement. It appears that’s out the window after Tank was pulled over for speeding (he was going 40 in a 25) early this morning in Arizona. Police said they drew blood to determine whether he was drunk. Sgt. Andrew Duncan, a police spokesman, said Tank was arrested for “DUI Impaired to the Slightest Degree” but was released without being booked or charged.
If the Commissioner holds true to his word, and I have no reason to believe he won’t, Tank will now be suspended for the full eight games. I just can’t imagine how Tank could let it happen, but this little episode will most likely cost him two more game checks — maybe more.
