It looks like Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has a sprained MCL. After last night’s 23-15 win over the Baltimore Ravens, TJack’s initial diagnosis following a first half injury was a bruised knee and head coach Brad Childress said he “wasn’t concerned.” Coach Childress is probably a bit more concerned now, although the injury isn’t expected to sideline Tarvaris for more than a week. The sprain is not as good as a bruise but it’s certainly better than a tear. Bottom line, Tarvaris needs to learn how to hit the ground before contact, especially in the preseason. He’s built (mentally and physically) to take-on would-be defenders, but as I’ve said many times before, he needs to play smarter if he wants to continue to be a starting quarterback.
