Tennessee Titans Lose First Game

Tennessee Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch predicted it a few weeks ago. Amidst an 8-0 start (at the time), he said his team would lose a game. Or two. Or three. Based on today’s 34-13 defeat to the upstart N.Y. Jets, he was right. How the Titans respond to this loss will determine whether or not they make good on the rest of Kyle’s prediction.
This all might sound kind of strange — a player predicting his team will lose — but in a sense, it’s probably good the Titans got this game out of the way. A first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs are huge, but in the end, all that matters is who won the Super Bowl. There aren’t any style points in the NFL. This isn’t the BCS. The N.Y. Giants proved that last season as they went the visiting Wild Card route and won Super Bowl XLII. You know the story. So, while it never feels good to lose, I have to wonder if the Titans are breathing a sigh of relief?
