Why Does Brett Favre Still Have a Locker?

Does anyone else think it’s a bit odd that retired Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre still has a locker at the team’s practice facility? Head coach Mike McCarthy doesn’t seem to think so:

“I think it’s more than a locker, and there are some plans for the locker that will be addressed in the future. But there’s nothing else to it. I wouldn’t want his locker, especially after his hygiene, my goodness. It’s a locker of a very special player in the history of our organization, and there are some plans for the future, and we’ll address that when it comes. I’ll just leave it at that.”

C’mon, if Brett’s really retired, fumigate that thing and get on with life. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need the daily reminders. Without question, Brett was one of the greatest players ever. But there comes a time when you have to respectfully put the past behind you and get on with the future. Now is that time.
