Best Free Throw Shooters in Fantasy Basketball

In fantasy basketball, the players that help your free throw percentage the most are players who get to the line a lot and hit for a high percentage. Here is a look at fantasy basketball players who can get to the line and drain their attempts:

Dirk Nowtizki, Dallas Mavericks
If you have Dirk Nowitzki on your fantasy team, you have to love what he does for you at the free throw line. Not only does he get there often, he also is hitting over 90% from the charity stripe. Since he’s the Mavericks’ number one option offensively, he’ll have no trouble getting to the line this season.

Chris Bosh, Toronto Raptors
Chris Bosh is second in the NBA in free throws mad and is currently hitting over 83% at the line. So far this season, Bosh has been arguably the best fantasy power forward in the game. A part of the reason is his ability to get to the line and convert.

Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns
His free throw numbers are a lot like Bosh’s, although Stoudemire has more of a history of getting to the line. And with his public comments recently about wanting the ball more, that should lead to even more free throw attempts.

Devin Harris, New Jersey Nets
For a point guard, Devin Harris gets to the line an insane amount of times. He’s also connecting on his free throws this season — shooting higher than 80%. Of any guard in fantasy basketball, Harris will help you the most in the free throw category.

Good list. [Devin Harris is going to the line almost 12 times per game. That is 2.2 more times per game than d-wade. Wow...]. Don’t forget Maggette and Pierce though. They both get to the line a similar number of times per game to what Bosh does and both shoot a better percentage (only slightly though). I also noticed you didn’t mention Jose Calderon, which is understandable since he’s only going to the line 3.1 times per game. But he doesn’t miss. I’m probably jinxing Calderon right now, but he is 43 for 43 from the stripe this year. He’s having a great year in other categories as well so he might be a candidate or a runner up or something.

Don’t forget Chauncey Billups (102-for-113 in 19 games). But as for power forwards getting to the line with success, David West has to be the most underrated. In just 17 games, he already has 80 attempts for over 90-percent (76-for-83).

  3. Chauncey? Boring… LeBron all day!
