Eric Gordon 2008 NBA Draft Prospect

After a stellar freshman season, Eric Gordon has entered the 2008 NBA Draft. This high scoring guard out of Indiana is expected to be a lottery pick.

In his one year in college, Gordon averaged over 20 points per game. From the first game of the season, Gordon proved that he has the ability to be a big time scorer. NBA scouts love his ability to score from various spots on the court.

However, there are a number of question marks that Gordon is going to answer before the draft. At 6-foot-4, Gordon has the body of a point guard but his game is that of a shooting guard. Can he make the transition to point guard? If not, can he survive defensively against shooting guards?

Gordon was also a bit erratic in his freshman season. He averaged 1.2 more turnovers than assists, which is a staggering number for a player of his height. He also didn’t shoot for an impressively high percentage from the field (43.3%).

All that said, Gordon has star potential on his ability to score alone. There’s little doubt that Gordon will be a lottery pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He probably won’t be selected in the top five but he should go between picks six and twelve.
