When you are stocking up on relief pitchers in fantasy baseball, it almost always makes sense to go after closers. Not only are closers typically the best relievers, their saves are an added bonus in nearly all fantasy baseball formats.
However, don’t reach for closers in your fantasy baseball draft. While a good closer is valuable, closers become available as the year goes along. Each season, multiple high-end closers can be had on the waiver wire.
