Greg Oden Practices – Injury Update

While the Portland Trail Blazers have already done more this season than most fans expected, the team got an addition boost recently when Greg Oden was able to practice. Oden, who has missed the whole season due to microfracture surgery, was even able to throw down a couple of dunks.

While Oden has no chance of coming back during the 2007-08 season, all signs point to him being a monster next year. He’s a player who should be able to rebound, block shots and shoot for a high percentage. His potential is sky high and it wouldn’t surprise many if Oden were to become a top five center almost immediately.

In a dynasty fantasy basketball league, Oden holds a lot of value. Even though he’s coming off of microfracture surgery, his future remains bright. Amare Stoudemire has returned to form after microfracture surgery. Even Kenyon Martin seems almost as athletic as ever after two microfracture surgeries. Oden might have lost some years off of the end of his career but his future remains exceptionally bright.

Averages of 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots per game on 55% shooting aren’t unrealistic for Oden in the 2008-09 NBA season.
