Kirk Hinrich Injury Info

Nursing an ankle injury, Kirk Hinrich sat out against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Chicago Bulls could have used him, as the Spurs walloped the Bulls 102-80. Chicago’s offense looked putrid and their defense wasn’t much better.

After the game, Hinrich said the injury shouldn’t keep him sidelined long. In fact, he expects to suit up soon.

“It kind of swelled up on me the last couple of days,” Hinrich told the Chicago Sun Times. “I just wasn’t moving very well on it. I just couldn’t move when I tried to warm up.”

“I feel like I could go, but I just don’t feel like I would be very effective,” he said.

The Bulls play next on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers. It sounds as if Hinrich could play in that game. The Bulls, even though they’ve had a poor season overall, are still in the playoff hunt. Don’t expect Hinrich to miss games he doesn’t have to miss.

If you are relying on Hinrich at this point, it’d be best to hold him out until you know he’s going to play and play well. With the Bulls being a mess, you don’t know what he’s going to do even if he’s healthy.

With Hinrich out, Ben Gordon runs the point for the Bulls. Larry Hughes and Thabo Sefolosha also get some time at the point guard position.
