Marques Colston, the wide receiver on the New Orleans Saints, signed a three-year contract extension to stay in New Orleans. Colston will look to have yet another productive season in his third year out of Hofstra.
Colston has been one of the NFL’s best stories in recent years. A seventh round draft pick, Colston has produced more than 2,200 yards and 19 touchdowns in his two NFL seasons. He heads into year number three as the team’s leading pass catching target.
While his numbers from sophomore season were a bit down from his rookie season numbers, expect Colston to bounce back in 2008. His ceiling is very high and could easily end up as one of the very best wide receivers in 2008 fantasy football.
Colston should also be helped by the Saints’ addition of Jeremy Shockey. Shockey will take away some of the pressure and allow Colston to see one-on-one coverages.
