On Monday, the NBA announced its two All-Defensive teams. The first team consisted of Tim Duncan, Bruce Bowen, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and Marcus Camby. The second team consisted of Shane Battier, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tayshaun Prince and Raja Bell.
Who would be on the fantasy basketball All-Defensive team for the 2007-08 NBA season? Let’s take a look.
Center – Marcus Camby, Denver Nuggets
Marcus Camby put up huge defensive stats during the regular season. By doing that, he gets named to the All-Defensive team for both the NBA and fantasy basketball.
Power Forward – Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic
Dwight Howard led the NBA in rebounding and was fifth in the league in blocked shots. We’ll move him over to power forward to make room for him next to Camby.
Small Forward – Josh Smith, Atlanta Hawks
With averages of 8.2 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.5 steals, Josh Smith was a beast on the defensive end of the court in fantasy basketball.
Shooting Guard – LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
While LeBron James isn’t a dominant defender in the NBA yet, he is a dominant defender in fantasy basketball. He averaged 7.9 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks.
Point Guard – Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets
Chris Paul easily led the NBA in steals during the regular season, with an average of 2.7 steals per game. He also chipped in with four rebounds per game.
