Stephen Curry of Davidson has been the talk of the college basketball world after scoring 70 points in the first two rounds of the 2008 NCAA tournament. Curry, who is only a sophomore, is the son of former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry.
While Stephen Curry is only 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, he’s a player who’d have to play at shooting guard in the NBA. While that’s extremely small for a shooting guard, Curry is so talented offensively that an NBA will take a chance on him being able to cope. Like his father, Curry is a deadly three-point shooter who can also shoot the mid-range jumper with accuracy.
The best scenario for Curry is to be drafted by a team with a tall point guard. Curry could be capable of defending point guards and then playing shooting guard on offense. Since he’s young and showing an unbelievable amount of offensive skill, there’s a good chance Curry would go in the first round of the 2008 draft.
Will he put his name into the draft? Chances are he will. Curry is averaging about 26 points per game on the season and has Davidson in the Sweet 16. There isn’t much more for him to accomplish at the college level. Putting his name into the draft now would also not allow scouts to grow even more concerned about his height and weight.
If Curry does come out in the 2008 NBA draft, he’ll likely be drafted in the last first round or the early second round.

I don’t think the NBA is going to make the same mistake that the ACC,SEC and other major conferences made. This is the best guard in the country. And also he will not have any problem playing the point in the NBA.Thats if he does not grow another 2 or 3 inches…..I see him being the Bobcats number 1 draft pick in 08 and if not then it will be 09…….
wow..what an amazing performance against wisconsin…33 points and 4 assists with a huge highlight reel included…the pump fake then three was amazing and key in the game…the reverse layup was amazing…he will not be the number one pick, or probably a top ten pick…but i think he will be picked between 10-20..what an amazing shooter and finisher..
I agree.
