Brad Johnson will take over for an injured Tony Romo
Tony Romo injured his pinkie during the Week 6 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury is expected to sideline Romo for up to a month. While Romo is out injured, Brad Johnson will take over the reins as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
Although Romo is expected to take at least two weeks to heal, there is growing sentiment that he’ll fight through the injury.

If he can withstand the pain and throw accurately, there’s a chance that he will play in Week 7. However, the more likely scenario is he’ll let the injury heal a bit.

Brad Johnson, even at age 40, should be decent enough as a starter. He’s a smart player who has a Super Bowl title on his resume. He doesn’t have great arm strength and is surely an injury risk but he should be able to keep the Cowboys above water until Romo returns.

Even though Johnson won’t hurt the Cowboys much on the field, he will likely hurt the fantasy value of the receiving targets. Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and the newly acquired Dallas Cowboy Roy Williams will not be at 100% of their fantasy potential until Romo returns.
