As 2007 winds down, let’s take a look at a few basketball players that I expect to breakout in 2008.
Sean Williams, New Jersey Nets
As long as Jason Kidd is still with the Nets, Williams should be able to develop into the best bigman on the Nets.
Derrick Rose, University of Memphis
Rose is a true point guard prospect who should be a top pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He’s also a very explosive athlete.
David Lee, New York Knicks
The only thing stopping Lee from being a double-double machine is playing time. Expect him to find playing time sometime in 2008.

Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies will find a spot for Conley in the starting lineup sooner rather than later. Once he gets a chance, Conley should be very good.

Ronnie Brewer, Utah Jazz
Brewer is already showing the world what he can do. As he gets more comfortable on the NBA level, expect his numbers to grow.

Louis Williams, Philadelphia 76ers
Williams will get the starting point guard job once Andre Miller is traded. Williams has shown great potential as a scorer and a playmaker.

Yi Jianlian, Milwaukee Bucks
Yi is playing well in his rookie year. He has already shown the skills necessary to be a very good player in the NBA.

Michael Beasley, Kansas State
Beasley is putting up monster numbers at Kansas State. There’s a good chance that Beasley becomes the number one pick of the 2008 draft.

Tyrus Thomas, Chicago Bulls
With Scott Skiles getting fired, Thomas could see his playing time rise greatly in the coming months. Thomas has played well when given extended minutes.

Andrew Bynum, Los Angeles Lakers
Bynum is already a very good player. In 2008, expect Bynum to become a great player.
