Fantasy Basketball – Second Round All-Stars

For those playing playoff fantasy basketball, you now have eight teams to choose from instead of 16. Here is the fantasy All-Star team comprised of those players still alive in the 2009 NBA Playoffs:
C Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic
After plenty of rest following his Game 6 suspension in the first round, look for Dwight Howard to try to beat up on the depleted Boston Celtics. With Kevin Garnett out, Howard could go off.
PF Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks
The Nuggets are a difficult matchup but Dirk Nowitzki should be able to have a solid series. He started off slow against the San Antonio …read more

Best Postseason Fantasy NBA Point Guards

Early on during the 2009 NBA playoffs, a number of point guards are playing at amazingly high levels. If you are playing playoff fantasy basketball, you definitely want to have one of these point guards quarterbacking your fantasy team:
Chauncey Billups, Denver Nuggets
During the regular season, Billups was very good. In the postseason, he’s taken his game up another level. He’s been simply amazing in his first two outings as a Nugget during the playoffs.
Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics
Filling the void left by an injured Kevin Garnett is point guard Rajon Rondo. He’s a certifiable star at this point and his numbers …read more

Best Passers in Fantasy Basketball 2008

Like the NBA, the best passers in fantasy basketball are the ones who rack up a lot of assists without turning the ball over a lot. Here’s a look at the top passers in fantasy basketball who can help you in the point guard statistics without hurting you in other aspects:

Chris Paul, New Orleans
Although he turns the ball over more than three times a game, he easily makes up for it by posting more than 11 assists per game. In fact, Paul is the only player in the NBA who is currently averaging double-digits in assists. At 11.8 assists per …read more

Denver Nuggets – Fantasy Basketball Analysis

After the Chauncey Billups trade in which the Denver Nuggets sent away Allen Iverson, the makeup and chemistry of the team has changed substantially. That has trickled down into the fantasy basketball world. Here is a look at the key players on the Nuggets and an analysis regarding their current stance in the fantasy basketball world:
Chauncey Billups
Although Chauncey Billups’ stats have slowly been going downhill in recent years, look for him to have a very good season this year for the Nuggets. Coach George Karl has given him complete control of the team and Billups is even more involved than …read more

Allen Iverson for Chauncey Billups Trade

The fantasy basketball impact of the Allen Iverson for Chauncey Billups trade is difficult to piece together. It’s such a drastic difference for both teams that it may take a few months to sort out. The trade, which was completed earlier in the week, sends Allen Iverson to Detroit for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheick Samb.
First of all for the Nuggets, they finally have a star point guard to build around. Every since trading away Andre Miller, Denver has struggled to find a floor general. Although Billups isn’t as good as he was a couple seasons ago, he’s still …read more

Point Guard Busts 2008 – Fantasy Basketball

Chauncey Billups, Detroit Pistons
While Chauncey Billups could have another solid season, there are some red flags. First of all, he has Rodney Stuckey behind him and Stuckey is viewed as the future of the franchise in Detroit. Second of all, Joe Dumars seems ready and willing to trade Billups if the right trade becomes available. If Billups ends up in a bad situation, his value could plummet.
Mo Williams, Cleveland Cavaliers
Common sense says that if you play next to a very good passer like LeBron James, your fantasy value will rise. However, that hasn’t really been the case. A lot of …read more

Josh Smith Trade Destinations – Rumors

The Atlanta Hawks and restricted free agent Josh Smith don’t appear to be getting closer to agreeing to a new contract. Reports indicate that the Hawks have offered Smith at least $11M a year but Smith wants more.
With free agent money dried up around the NBA, Smith appears likely to either re-sign with the Hawks or be traded in a sign-and-trade deal. If Smith is indeed involved in a sign-and-trade deal, where would he end up? Here are the leading possibilities:
Detroit Pistons – The Pistons have a lot of veteran player who they are willing to offer …read more

Tracy McGrady Trade Rumors – Impact

Recently, trade rumors have surfaced that have the Houston Rockets trading Tracy McGrady to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince. This trade would be a monumental shakeup for two teams that made the playoffs last season in the NBA.
McGrady would give the Pistons a go-to scorer — something the team has lacked in recent years. The Pistons have been great defensively but have struggled a bit offensively, especially late in games.
For the Rockets, this trade makes a lot less sense. While Houston isn’t strong at the point guard position, Chauncey Billups is …read more

Chauncey Billups Injury Update – Rodney Stuckey?

Chauncey Billups has been slowed in recent games and there are some whispers that Rodney Stuckey is the Detroit Pistons’ best point guard at the moment. Billups injured his hamstring against the Orlando Magic in the second round and hasn’t been the same since returning.
In Game 3 against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, Billups had one of the worst games of his Pistons career. In 27 minutes, Billups had only six points and four assists, while shooting 1-for-6 from the floor. The Pistons ended up losing the game at home and now trail the …read more

The Pistons reached the Eastern Conference Finals by beating the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round and the Orlando Magic in the second round. The Celtics arrive after beating the Atlanta Hawks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Since the Celtics finished with the better record, they’ll have homecourt advantage in this series. While the Celtics will be favored due to their homecourt advantage, there are reasons to believe that the Pistons can give the Celtics a run for their money.
First of all, the …read more
