This undrafted rookie has a chance to play a lot of point guard for the Warriors this season. In fact, many people connected to the Warriors believe that DeMarcus Nelson has been the best point guard in training camp.

Want to roll the dice on some fantasy basketball super sleepers? Here are some fantasy players that very well could be the talk of the basketball world over the next few months.

DeMarcus Nelson, Golden State Warriors
This undrafted rookie has a chance to play a lot of point guard for the Warriors this season. In fact, many people connected to the Warriors believe that DeMarcus Nelson has been the best point guard in training camp.

Aaron Brooks, Houston Rockets
Although Aaron Brooks is a backup in Houston, he is playing behind Rafer Alston – who is always seemingly a ticking time bomb. During preseason, Brooks has played well and has solidified a spot in the rotation. Watch for him to breakout if he ascends to the starting roll.

Chris Douglas-Roberts, New Jersey Nets
One of the most talented scorers in the 2008 NBA Draft, Chris Douglas-Roberts will play the season with a chip on his shoulder after falling to the second round. In preseason, he has shown an ability to score and with the Nets likely not making a push for the playoffs, CDR will get plenty of shots.

CJ Miles, Utah Jazz
The Jazz are expected to start CJ Miles at small forward this season – at least to start with. If he plays well, Miles should be able to hold onto that job for the duration of the season. Miles is a good shooter who can score the ball and also play solid defense. With enough minutes, look for Miles to be a fantasy basketball viable player.

JaVale McGee, Washington Wizards
One of the best looking bigmen of the 2008 NBA Draft has been JaVale McGee. Although he’s young, skinny and raw, McGee looks like a player who has a chance to help right away. He’s extremely athletic and very quick on his feet. He could play a roll with the Wizards and put up nice numbers in rebounds and blocked shots.

Could JaVale McGee go down as the sleeper of the 2008 draft class?

The Utah Jazz matched the offersheet the Seattle Supersonics (or Oklahoma City Blanks, if you will) gave to restricted free agent CJ Miles. By matching the offersheet, Miles will now be under contract for three years with the Jazz.
Miles is a young shooting guard prospect who has shown promise in limited action. Originally a second round pick, Miles projects to be a good scoring shooting guard once he gets ample playing time.

Miles is a young shooting guard prospect who has shown promise in limited action. Originally a second round pick, Miles projects to be a good scoring shooting guard once he gets ample playing time.

The question surrounding Miles is when he will get that playing time. In the 2008-09 season, don’t expect Miles to start or even play big minutes. He’ll probably average around 15 minutes per game as the Jazz slowly give him more playing time. In a redraft fantasy basketball league, Miles still won’t be worth a draft pick next season.

However, in a dynasty league, Miles is a player who definitely should be considered a sleeper because his potential two or three years down the line is very good.

Nate Robinson, New York Knicks
Robinson might be the shortest shooting guard in NBA history. At a listed 5-foot-9, Robinson just doesn’t have what it takes to be a point guard in the NBA. That said, he has shown enough ability at shooting guard to make him a very good prospect at that level. If Robinson gets consistent time with the Knicks or elsewhere, he’s a very solid fantasy player.

CJ Miles, Utah Jazz
Miles is a young shooting guard who is starting to blossom with the Jazz. He’s a good shooter who is also a tough defender. While he’s still growing into his body, he has become a Jerry Sloan favorite as of late. Keep an eye on him to see if he can carve out a niche in Utah this season.

Gordon Giricek, Philadelphia 76ers
Giricek was traded by the Jazz to the Sixers for Kyle Korver. While Giricek isn’t an overwhelming talent, he’s more than capable of starting in the NBA. There’s a chance he could win the Sixers starting shooting guard spot, which would really boost his standing in the fantasy basketball world.

Larry Hughes, Cleveland Cavaliers
Hughes has been downright awful for the Cavs this year. While it’d be easy to give up on him, Hughes has shown a good amount of talent in the past. There are rumors that he could get traded, which would instantly raise his stock – especially if he could get on a team with a more free flowing offense.
