Early on in the 2009-10 NBA season, there are a few fantasy basketball sleepers that are making their names known. These players could be able to step up and help you win a fantasy basketball championship this season. Here’s a look at the sleepers we have seen so far:

Danilo Gallinari Back Surgery?

Danilo Gallinari of the New York Knicks has been dealing with a back injury since shortly after he was selected in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft. Though he played in the first two games of the regular season, Gallinari then missed a couple of months to rest the back injury.
In the middle of January, Gallinari returned to the court and was actually quite impressive. Showing a wide array of skills, Gallinari even caught the eye of many fantasy basketball owners. He seemed a perfect fit for Mike D’Antoni’s run-and-gun offense.

Danilo Gallinari Leads New York Knicks – Video

Danilo Gallinari looks like he’s on the way to quieting those boos he heard on draft day. He had an impressive performance for the New York Knicks and displayed a wide array of skills. He’s only 19 but it’s possible to imagine Gallinari getting a lot of minutes this season for Mike D’Antoni and the Knicks.

Danilo Gallinari 2008 NBA Draft Prospect

After entering this season as a good overseas prospect, Danilo Gallinari has now become the near consensus pick as the top overseas prospect in the 2008 NBA Draft. Gallinari has played exceptionally well in Italy this season, especially considering he is only 19 years old.
At 6-foot-9, Gallinari has varied skills that have scouts thinking he can play either shooting guard or point guard. There are even some scouts who think Gallinari has the ball handling ability and the passing ability to play a bit at point guard if needed.

If you are in a dynasty league, it’s time to start looking at what international players could make a splash in the NBA next season. Here’s a list of player who all have a chance of being drafted in the first round.
Nicolas Batum, France
Batum is a 6-foot-8 small forward prospect who has a nice amount of skill. While he’s not a pure jump shooter yet, his all-around abilities have scouts loving his long-term potential. If he plays well in workouts, he could move into the top five players drafted in 2008.
