This year, there don’t seem to be kickers in fantasy football that are heads and shoulders above the rest. That said, there are definitely a few kickers that have more value heading into the 2009 fantasy season. Here’s a look at the top of our 2009 fantasy football kicker ranking:
1. Rob Bironas, Tennessee Titans
With a powerful leg and an offense that produces a lot of field goal attempts, Rob Bironas is a good bet to be elite in 2009.

K David Akers, Philadelphia Eagles – Akers and the Eagles face a very favorable opponent in the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are a sub par defensive team and their offense has been poor all season. This is a recipe for a long day of work for Akers. Donovan McNabb hasn’t been great in the red zone this season and the Eagles should find themselves in that part of the field often. Akers should be good for at least three field goals this week.
