QB Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers
Alex Smith was decent in his first start of the season against the tough Colts. Against the Titans in Week 9, Smith is very much a sleeper. He could be huge.

RB Ryan Moats, Houston Texans
The Texans were mad at Steve Slaton for his fumbling. They gave Ryan Moats a shot and he scored three touchdowns. If he gets a start in Week 9, go ahead and start him in your fantasy league.

Try to get your hands on Ryan Moats (Image: Zuma Press)

WR Mike Thomas, Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s time to pay attention to Mike Thomas. The Jaguars wide receiver has 11 catches in the last two games. In three of his last four games, the rookie wide receiver has at least four grabs.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
Donald Lee has been an afterthought this season. But with Jermichael Finley injured, Lee’s value is now higher. He’s had at least three catches in four straight games and faces a horrible Tampa Bay squad in Week 9 of the 2009 fantasy football season.

Coming off of a very good game against the New England, Seneca Wallace will face the pitiful St. Louis Rams defense this week. Coming off of a very good game against the New England, Seneca Wallace will face the pitiful St. Louis Rams defense this week. Last Week, Wallace finished with three touchdowns, 212 passing yards and 47 rushing yards. This week he has a chance to put up similar stats against the Rams.

RB Tatum Bell, Denver Broncos
With Peyton Hillis now out for the season with a hamstring injury, Tatum Bell is the starting running back in Denver. He’s had some success in the past in this system and should be extra motivated knowing that this could very well be his last chance to earn a spot in the NFL. Start him if your other options are shaky.

WR Torry Holt, St. Louis Rams
Torry Holt has quietly gotten better over the last few weeks. He’s running better routes and is getting open more often. In the last four weeks, he has 17 receptions and has had at least 60 yards in all but one of those games. He’ll likely have a breakout game at some point before the end of the season and Week 15 against the Seahawks is a possibility.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
In each of the last two games, Donald Lee has a touchdown. In the last four games, he has three touchdowns. While he’s not getting a whole lot of passes thrown his way, he’s a definite threat near the end zone. Going against a mediocre Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 15 makes Lee a good play.

The Falcons are going against an Oakland Raiders defense that simply isn’t that good. Last week, fellow rookie quarterback Joe Flacco had a good fantasy day against this same defense.
RB Michael Pittman, Denver Broncos
Michael Pittman is banged up and is currently listed as questionable for the Week 9 game. But he was able to practice late in the week and should start the game and have a heavy workload. Against the Miami Dolphins, Pittman should be able to produce a nice fantasy football line.

WR Joey Galloway, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Chance are Joey Galloway is going to have a breakout game at some point this season. This week against the Kansas City Chiefs is a good bet to be that week. Galloway is as healthy as he’s been since his injury and should be able to get a long touchdown in this week’s game.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
The Packers are facing a very tough defense this week when they take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. However, if the Packers are going to have any success against the Titans, it will likely be with Lee finding room in the middle of their secondary. That is the one weak spot in the Tennessee defense, as illustrated last week when tight end Dallas Clark had a pair of touchdowns.

So far this season, Dan Orlovsky hasn’t looked much like a capable fantasy football quarterback. But if you are really desperate for a QB in Week 7, consider Orlovsky a fantasy football sleeper for the week. He’s facing a bendable Houston Texans defense and with Jon Kitna out of the year, he no longer has to look over his shoulder. Expect him to have at least one touchdown pass.

RB Michael Pittman, Denver Broncos
While it’s never a happy feeling starting a running back against the New England Patriots, Pittman should have some success. He’s coming off of a very good week in Week 6 and the Patriots have shown some holes so far in 2008. Pittman is a sleeper to have a huge week this weekend.

WR Isaac Bruce, San Francisco 49ers
The matchup against the New York Giants looks daunting but the Cleveland Browns had success last week through the air against NY. If the 49ers can have similar success, Bruce will be in for a big game. He has emerged as the team’s go-to receiver and he looks to be in very good shape.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
It appears as if Aaron Rodgers is slowly but surely adding tight end Donald Lee into the team’s passing attack. Lee, who thrived last season when Brett Favre was quarterback, has a better than average matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Consider Lee a fantasy football sleeper in Week 7.

Gonzalez has been a very consistent player for a long time and he’ll likely be a sleeper this upcoming season because of his advanced age. However, don’t be confused — Gonzalez is still an elite tight end.

Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers – Lee became a Brett Favre favorite last year. If Favre decides to unretire, expect Lee to have an even better year in 2008. If Aaron Rodgers is quarterback, Lee would be a riskier pick. Either way, he’s definitely a sleeper right now.

Greg Olson, Chicago Bears – Although Olson won’t get all the touches at the tight end position for the Bears, Olson showed very good potential as a rookie last year for the Bears. He’s big, he’s strong and he has good hands.

Check out this Greg Olson video where he talks about himself and other fantasy football tight ends:

In a losing effort, Favre had the best stats of any quarterback on Sunday. While all four quarterbacks struggled, Favre finished with two touchdowns, two interceptions and 236 yards. In a losing effort, Favre had the best stats of any quarterback on Sunday. While all four quarterbacks struggled, Favre finished with two touchdowns, two interceptions and 236 yards. If you started Favre, you have to be decently happy with that output. However, Packers fans are going to have nightmares about his interception in overtime.

RB Laurence Maroney, New England Patriots
Maroney continues his late season tear. He had 122 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers and was arguably the best player on the field for the Patriots. He’s running hard and should be a force in the Super Bowl. His early season struggles have been forgotten at this point.

WR Plaxico Burress, New York Giants
Burress is a big reason why the Giants are headed to the Super Bowl. Burress had 11 catches for 154 yards and almost single-handedly willed their offense at times. Although he battles a chronically injured ankle, Burress looked very healthy on Sunday. With a couple weeks of rest until the Super Bowl, he could be in line for another big performance.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
Lee was easily the best tight end on Sunday. He a touchdown, 35 yards and three catches for the Packers. Lee will head into the 2008 season as a draftable tight end in the fantasy world – especially if Favre returns. Lee has emerged as a legitimate tight end for the Packers that should be a nice fantasy player for the next couple seasons.

QB Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
The New England Patriots defense is good but it’ s hardly as dominant as some league pundits make it out to be. With the Patriots keying the run on Sunday, look for the Chargers to throw early and throw often. Although Rivers is a bit banged up, he should be able to throw the ball downfield and hope for big plays out of Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants
Bradshaw doesn’ t even start for the Giants but he’ s been impressive when carrying the ball. He actually leads the Giants in rushing yards in the playoffs and has just four less carries than Brandon Jacobs. The Green Bay Packers are a very good defensive team which could mean more Bradshaw because Bradshaw has big play ability that Jacob lacks.

WR Donte Stallworth, New England Patriots
Although it wasn’ t noticed by many people, Stallworth actually led the Patriots in receiving yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Stallworth had a rollercoaster ride of a regular season statistically but he seems to be a valued weapon in the playoffs. There’ s a pretty good chance he’ ll breakout for a long touchdown against the aggressive Chargers defense.

TE Donald Lee, Green Bay Packers
Quietly, Lee has become one of Favre’ s favorite targets. When Favre is in trouble, he’ ll oftentimes look Lee’ s way. This becomes especially true around the endzone. Lee is a good athlete who greatly improved his route running this season to become a player who is on the doorstep of becoming an elite tight end.
